Solution

a) Here "injury" refers to the pain caused to Mrs. Pandit because of her anger with her relatives. These relatives wanted to use the outworn law to disinherit her from her dead husband's share in the family property. This made Mrs. Pandit realize that in India women had no independent existence besides her relation to a man. This realization grieved Mrs. Pandit a lot.

b) Gandhiji asked Mrs. Pandit to not hurt herself as the pain of her husband's death already hurt her too much. Hence, he asked her to not hurt herself further by harboring anguish for her relatives.
