Pathogens: The disease-causing microorganisms which transfer diseases from a diseased person to a healthy person are called pathogens.

Pathogens include viruses, bacteria, fungi, and protozoans.

  1. Diseases caused by viruses: Common cold, Hepatitis A, Dengue, Rabies, AIDS, etc.
  2. Diseases caused by bacteria: Typhoid, Diarrhoea, Cholera, tuberculosis, etc.
  3. Diseases caused by fungi: Candida infection, aspergillus infection, athlete's foot, and skin infections.
  4. Diseases caused by protozoans: Sleeping sickness, Amoebic dysentery, Malaria, etc
