Solution

Loudness:

The degree of sensation produced in the ear by the sound is called loudness.

The factors on which the loudness depends are:

  1. Loudness depends on the amplitude of the vibration. The greater the amplitude, the louder the sound.
  2. Loudness depends on the area of vibrating material. The larger the area, the louder the sound.
  3. Loudness depends on the distance between the source of the sound and the listener. As the listener moves farther, the sound heard by him is fainter.
