Nephrons whose Bowmans capsule is nearer to the medulla are Juxtamedullary nephrons which have long Henles loops and are important in concentrating urine.
Cortical nephrons are another type which have their Bowmans capsule near to the periphery of the nephron.These nephrons have shorter Henles loop and cant concentrate urine.
