Solution

Dear student,

As initial and final position is same so displacement is zero.
As displacement is zero,
average velocity=displacementtime=0

Given, distance is 12 km more than displacement, and dsplacement is zeroso, distance= 12km,Distance from home to school=122=6 kmTime taken to go to school=distancespeed=63=2 hrTime taken to go home =distancespeed=64=1.5 hrTotal time=2+1.5=3.5 hrAverage speed= total distancetotal time=123.5=3.43 km/h
