Solution

The correct option is B ZnSO4 andNaOH
The solution is alkaline and gives a pink colour with phenolphthalein. Hence it must be strongly alkaline and must contain NaOH.
The aqueous solution gives a white precipitate with dil HCl initially and on adding excess of HCl it dissolves This suggest that Zn2+ must be present in the solution.
ZnSO4+4NaOHNa2ZnO2+Na2SO4+2H2O
(Soluble)
Na2ZnO2+2HCl2NaCl+Zn(OH)2
Zn(OH)2+2HClZnCl2+2H2O
(Excess) (Soluble)
