Open in App
Solution

Let length of the bamboo pole = Y m

Part buried in mud = Y / 3 m

Part in water = Y / 6 m

Total part buried in mud and water = Y /3 + Y/6 = 3Y / 6 = Y /2 m

As given in the question total length of the pole=

Y /2 + 3 = Y

Since Y / 2 = 3

So 3+ 3 = Y

Ans: 6 m.
