Solution

The triatomic gas of a triatomic molecule means that the number of atoms present in one molecule of the gas is 3.

As we know that there is Avogadro’s number of molecules in one mole of gas. So we have NA=6.023×1023 molecules in one mole of gas.

0.1 mole of gas present, so the number of molecules in 0.1 moles of the gas is:

=0.1×NAN_A

NA=0.1×6.02×1023 =6.02×1022

we know that there are 3 atoms present in one molecule.

So the number of atoms present in 0.1 moles of the gas is:

=3×6.02×1022 =18.06×1022 =1.806×1023

Therefore, the number of atoms in 0.1 mol triatomic gas is 1.806×1023
