Question

Does the current flowing through the parallel circuit is same in all the branches. For example if 2A current is flowing through a parallel crcuit and one branch holds 1hm and 5 ohm resistor and the other branch has 9 ohm and 3 ohm resistor then is the current flowing through each branch is different or same?

Solution

As two branches are connected in parallel Combination then, voltage across each branch will remain same.
In first branch net resistance is 1+5 = 6 ohm
In second branch net resistance is 9+3 = 12 ohm.
as both are connected in series, net resistance of the circuit is
1R = 16 + 112R= 4 ohmCurrent in the circuit is 2 Avoltage in the circuit is 2×4 = 8 voltvoltage across each branch will remain same.Cuurent through the first branchI1= 8/6 = 4/3 = 1.33 ACurrent across second branchI2 = 8/12 = 0.66 A
