In an ideal transformer,number of turns in the primary and secondary are 200 and 1000 respectively. If the power input to the primary is 10kW at 200V,calculate (a) output voltage and (b) current in the primary.

For a transformer, $$\begin{gathered} \frac{E_s}{E_p}=\frac{n_s}{n_p} \\ {E}_s=E_p\left(\frac{n_s}{n_p}\right)=200V\times \left(\frac{1000}{2000}\right)=100V \end{gathered}$$

(b) Power input ,P_p = 10 kw = 10,000 w
Input current , $I_p=\frac{P_p}{E_p}=\frac{10,000w}{200V}=50A$
