Solution

+3 oxidation state is the most common oxidation state shown by Bismuth. Some compounds in which Bismuth shows +5 oxidation are :
  • Bismuth(V) fluoride - BiF5
  • Bismuth(V) oxide - Bi2O5 - This is unstable red solid
  • Sodium bismuthate - NaBiO3

On heating ammonium dichromate and barium azide separately, following products are obtained:
(NH4)2Cr2O7(s) Cr2O3 (s) + N2(g) + 4H2O(g)Ammonium chromium(III)dichromate oxideBa(N3)2 (s) Ba(s) + 3N2(g)Barium azide
