1. How Molar conductivity of weak electrolyte vary with concentration?
Molar conductivity of a solution at a given concentration is the conductance of volume V of a solution containing 1 mole of electrolyte, kept between two electrodes with the cross sectional area A and distance of unit length.
Molar conductivity Λm = k / c
or Λm = k×V/ n
where { Λm is the molar conductivity , k is the conductivity and c is the molarity, V is the volume and n = number of moles }
For weak electrolyte the degree of dissociation is very small so on decreasing the concentration or increasing the dilution, degree of dissociation increases, more is the degree of dissociation more will be the ions generated in a given volume and hence molar conductivity increases.
