The car battery is of 12V. 8 dry cells of 1.5V each is connected in series can ive 12V bt such cells not used in starting a car.Why?

Dry cells used in series will have high resistance (about 10 ohm)and hence provide low current,while a car battery has low internal resistance (0.1ohm) and hence gives high current for the same emf that is needed to start the car.
