The no. of moles of CO2 molecules formed during combustion reaction of benzene (C6H6) is

The reaction occurring is as follows:

2 C6H6 + 15 H2O ---------> 12 CO2 + 6 H2O


Thus, there are 6 CO2 molecules formed per molecule of benzene.
In combustion all C atoms are converted to CO2
hence no. of C in a molecule = no. of CO2 molecules.
