We know that if the density of the solid is greater than density of liquid, then the solid will sink. But if the density of the solid is equal to the density of the liquid will the solid float or sink?

The object will remain at the position where it is placed. If the object is placed anywhere under the water, at rest, it will stay where it was placed, because there will be no net force on it. That is the buoyant force will be equalized by the gravitational force.
If the water is moving, the object may change its position as per the movement of water.
