Question

What is the respiratory organ in anaerobic organisms ?

Open in App
Solution

An anaerobic organism does not require oxygen for growth. It can perform its bodily functions better in the absence of oxygen and may die in the presence of oxygen.

In anaerobic respiration glycolysis takes place. The 3-carbon molecules (pyruvic acid) are then converted into other products. Anaerobic respiration is also known as fermentation.
