Question

Why does sugar take more time to dissolve in cold water in comparison to hot water ?

Open in App
Solution

At higher temperature the kinetic energy of the molecules increases. Therefore, in hot water sugar particles are rapidly surrounded by water molecules, breaking them and thus dissolving takes place easily.Whereas in cold water, sugar particles are surrounded by water molecules in more time and thus dissolving process takes more time.
