Solution

Given that the denomination notes of ₹2000, ₹500, ₹100 are in the ratio 1:3:5,

No. of ₹2000 denomination notes Pawan has = x

No. of ₹500 denomination notes Pawan has = 3x

No. of ₹100 denomination notes Pawan has = 5x

(1 Mark)

For ₹2000 notes, amount of money = ₹2000x

For ₹500 notes, amount of money = 3x×500 = ₹1500x

For ₹100 notes, amount of money = 5x×100 = ₹500x

(1 Mark)

Total sum = 2000x+1500x+500x=5,00,000 (Given)

4000x=5,00,000

x=125

Number of ₹2000 denomination notes = 125 notes
