Pb(NO3)2(aq)+2KCl(aq)2KNO3(aq)+PbCl2(s)

In the above reaction, Pb2+ from Pb(NO3)2 displaces K+ from KCl and forms an insoluble solid PbCl2 . Similarly, K+ from KCl displaces Pb2+ from Pb(NO3)2 to form KNO3 solution. The ions (cations) are exchanged between the reactants.Hence, this reaction is called double displacement reaction.
