The Ramsar Convention signed on February 2, 1971, is one of the oldest inter-governmental accord signed by member countries to preserve the ecological character of their wetlands of international importace..

On 28th January, 2020, the Ramsar Convention declared 10 more wetlands in India as sites of international importance.

Maharashtra gets its first Ramsar site (Nandur Madhameshwar) , Punjab which already had 3 Ramsar sites adds 3 more (Keshopur-Miani, Beas Conservation Reserve, Nangal) and UP with 1 Ramsar site has added 6 more (Nawabganj, Parvati Agra, Saman, Samaspur, Sandi and SarsaiNawar).

Tso Moriri lake in the Changthang area of Ladakh was declared as a Wetland of International Importance under the Ramsar Convention in 2003, hence only option 4 is incorrect.

• रामसर कन्वेंशन पर 2 फरवरी, 1971 को हस्ताक्षर किये गए थे। यह उन सबसे प्राचीनतम अंतर-सरकारी समझौते में से एक है जिस पर सदस्य देशों ने अंतरराष्ट्रीय महत्व वाले अपनी आर्द्रभूमियों की पारिस्थितिक प्रतिष्ठा को संरक्षित करने हेतु हस्ताक्षर किए थे।
• भारत ने 28 जनवरी, 2020 को रामसर कन्वेंशन के अंतर्गत अतिरिक्त 10 आर्द्रभूमियों को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय महत्व के स्थलों के रूप में सम्मिलित करने की घोषणा की थी।
• इसके अंतर्गत नंदुर मद्महेश्वर (महाराष्ट्र का प्रथम रामसर स्थल), पंजाब (जिसके पहले से ही 3 रामसर स्थल शामिल थे) के तीन अतिरिक्त स्थल (केशोपुर-मियां, ब्यास संरक्षण रिजर्व, नांगल) तथा उत्तर प्रदेश के एक और स्थल को जोड़ने के साथ ही कुल छह स्थल (नवाबगंज, परवल आगरा, समन, संदासपुर, सांडी और सरसईनवार) हो गए है।
• लद्दाख के चांगथांग क्षेत्र में स्थित त्सो मोरीरी झील को 2003 की रामसर कन्वेंशन के अंतर्गत अंतर्राष्ट्रीय महत्व की एक आर्द्रभूमि के रूप में घोषित किया गया था, अतः केवल विकल्प 4 गलत है।
