The number of planks of dimensions $(4m\times 50cm\times 20cm)$ that can be stored in a pit which is 16 m long, 12 m wide and 4 m deep is:

A) 1900

Given, dimensions of the plank are;
$l=4m,b=50cm=\frac{50}{100}m=0.5m$
$andh=20cm=\frac{20}{100}m=0.2m$

$\therefore$ Volume of the plank
$=l\times b\times h=4\times 0.5\times 0.2=0.4m^3$

Also, given dimensions of the pit are;
l = 16 m, b = 12 m and h = 4 m

$\therefore$ Volume of pit
$=l\times b\times h=(16\times 12\times 4)m^3$

$\therefore$ Number of planks
$=\frac{Volumeofthepit}{Volumeoftheplank}=\frac{16\times 12\times 4}{0.4}$

$=16\times 12\times 10=1920$
