Question

Ravi made a cuboid of plasticine of dimensions 12 cm, 8 cm, and 3 cm. How many minimum numbers of such cuboids will be needed to form a cube

Open in App
Solution

Volume of each cuboid = 12×8×3=288cm3

LCM of 12,8 & 3 is 24. Therefore minimum edge length of cube formed will be 24 cm.

Volume of cube = n× volume of 1 cuboid [n= number of cuboid ]

(24)3=n×288

n=24×24×24288=48

Hence, number of cuboids =48
