  • Livestock is defined as keeping of animals at a farm and to raising them to acquire benefits from them. Animals which can be domesticated and reared for their products are useful for humans as they provide them with their livelihood.
  • Rearing of sheep is done to collect useful products like wool, milk and meat. Food in the form of meat and milk can be sold in the market to earn money. Also, wool is widely used fibre to make woollen clothes. Therefore, sheep are farmed and raised as they provide us with economic benefits. That is why farming or rearing of sheep is considered as livestock.
