Rearrange the following compounds in the increasing order of their boiling points : CH3−CHO,CH3−CH2−OH,CH3−CH2−CH3

Solution
CH3−CH2−CH3<CH3−CHO<CH3−CH2−OH
Alcohols have the highest boiling point because of hydrogen bonding. Carbonyl compounds have dipole dipole interaction which means the boiling point is high, simply not as high as that of an alcohol.
