Question

Replace the 6Ω resistor with a voltage source and a 2 Ω resistance. What will be the value of this voltage source in volts.

  1. 8

Open in App
Solution

The correct option is A 8
Ixy=183+6=2 A
Vxy=2×6=12 V
So, here voltage across xy branch should be 12 V and current through xy branch is 2A
For xy branch

Hence, voltage across 2Ω resistor = 2×2=4V
Vxy=12V
4+V=12
V=8V
