Let the number of sweets Shankar had initially be $x$
Sweets given to Reve $=\frac{x}{4}$
Sweets given to Raju$=5$
Sweets left with Shankar after sharing$=x-(\frac{x}{4}+5)$
According to the question he is left with 10 sweets.
$\Rightarrow x-\frac{x}{4}-5=10$
$\Rightarrow \frac{4x-x}{4}=10+5$
$\Rightarrow \frac{3x}{4}=15$
$\Rightarrow x=15\times \frac{4}{3}$
$\Rightarrow x=5\times 4$
$\therefore x=20$
So, initially Shankar had $20$ sweets.
