Solving the equation

A statement of equality which involves one or more variables is called an equation.

Given equation is 7x-4=24

RHS of the equation is 24 .

In LHS, a whole number 4 is subtracted from a number 7x.

Thus we need to guess several values of x to find the values of LHS that becomes equal to RHS as shown in the table below.

xLHS=7x-4RHS=24
17×1-4=324
27×2-4=1024
37×3-4=1724
47×4-4=2424

For x=4 ,LHS=RHS.

Thus x=4 is the solution of the equation.

Hence the solution of the equation 7x-4=24 is x=4
