$x - 5 y = 4$

$\Rightarrow$ $x = 4 + 5 y$

$2 x + 3 y = 8$

Put value of $x$

$\Rightarrow$ $2 (4 + 5 y) + 3 y = 8$

$\Rightarrow$ $8 + 8 y = 8$

$\Rightarrow$ $y = 0$

$\Rightarrow$ $x = 4$
