Solution

Area of a rectangular field =48 m2
One side = 6 m
Other side =486=8 m

Suppose ABCD is a rectangular field and BD is one of its diagonals.
BD=(AB)2+(AD)2
=(6m)2+(8m)2
=36 m2+64 m2=100 m2
=10 m
A lady crosss the field diagonally at the rate of 20 m/minute.
Time taken to cover 20 metres = 1 min (60 sec)
Time taken to cover 10 metres =12 min(30 sec)
The lady takes 12 min (30 sec) to cross the field.
