Solution

The correct option is B RPSQ
The first statement in the sequence should be the one that best connects with S1. It must be a continuation or extension of S1.
R is first in the sequence: S1 starts by saying that before man settled down, his life was not governed by the seasons. R continues this point by saying that once he settled down to the agricultural way of life, he had to calculate the change of season on which agriculture depended.
R is followed by P: P explains how man achieved R. It says that the man began to measure time, first he looked fora unit of measurement, one of which was the day.
P is followed by S: S continues P's point. It says that to calculate passing of time the man had to calculate the number of days in a season.
S is followed by Q: Q tells us how S was achieved. It says that the number of days in a season were calculated by marking a mark for each day on a tree trunk. S6 adds a point to the topic. It says that we do not know when man first began to divide the day into twenty-four hours, and an hour into sixty minutes.
Thus, the correct sequence is R P S Q. Hence, B is the correct option.
