The length and breadth of a rectangle are 20 cm and 10 cm. The length of another rectangle is 40 cm but the breadth is unknown. It is known that the ratio of length to breadth of both the rectangles is the same. What is the breadth of the second rectangle?

Ratio of length and breadth of the first rectangle = 20 / 10
= 2 : 1
Since the ratio of length to breadth of the second rectangle is equivalent to that of the first rectangle hence 2:1 = 40 : breadth

2/1 = 40/ breadth
Breadth = 40 /2
= 20 cm
