Question

the length of a room is double of its breadth. the area of four walls is 162m sq. if the height of the room is 4 m find its volume

Open in App
Solution

Let the breadth be x and length be 2x

Area of 4 walls = 2(length + breadth)*height
= 2(2x+x)*4
= 8(3x)
= 24x m.sq.

It is given that the area of the 4 walls = 162 m.sq.

So. 24x = 162
x = 162/24
x = 6.75

So, breadth = 6.75 m
length = 2*6.75 = 13.5 m

volume = length*breadth*height
= 6.75*13.5*4
= 364.5 m.cube
