Let length and width be l and b.
The perimeter of the rectangle is given by
2(l+b)=12
l+b=6
According to the given condition
l=3+2b
6b=3+2b
3b=3
b=1
Using this value of b,
l+1=6
l=5
the area of the rectangle =l×b=5×1=5
