Solution

Given ABCD is a parallelogram, with two adjacent sides AB and BC being in the ratio 2:1 and its perimeter being 24 cm.

Let the length of side AB and BC be 2x and x respectively.

Since the opposite sides of a parallelogram are equal,
AB = CD = 2x cm and BC = AD = x cm

Now, perimeter = 24 cm
AB + BC + CD + AD = 24 cm

2x + x + 2x + x = 24 cm
6x = 24 cm
x = 4 cm
The length of the adjacent sides AB and BC are 8 cm and 4cm respectively.
