Let the initial population of the city = z.
Percentage increase in the population after first year = 10%
So, the population after one year of city = z + 10% of z = 1.1z Percentage increase in the population after second years = 20% So, the population after second year = 1.1z + 20% of 1.1z = 1.1z × 1.2 = 1.32z
Percentage decrease in the population after third year = 10%. Population after third year = 1.32z – 10% of 1.32z = 1.32z × 0.90 = 1.188z
