$v_g$ = speed of light in glass
Absolute refractive index of diamond, $n_d=\frac{c}{v_d}$

$v_d$ = speed of light in diamond

Refractive index of diamond with respect to glass is given by, $n_{dg}=\frac{n_d}{n_g}=1.6$
$\Rightarrow n_d=n_{dg}\times n_g=1.6\times 1.5=2.4$
Therefore, the absolute refractive index of diamond is $2.4$.
