The vestibular apparatus consists of
utricle
saccule
semicircular canals
Sensory information about motion, equilibrium, and spatial orientation are provided by the vestibular apparatus which include the utricle, saccule, and three semicircular canals. The utricle and saccule help in detecting gravity (information in a vertical orientation) and linear movement. Semicircular canals are three tiny, fluid-filled tubes in our inner ear that help us maintain our body balance.
