Question

There are two metallic loops of radii 0.2 m and 0.5 m. The smaller loop is placed within the bigger one. Calculate the magnitude of the magnetic flux through the bigger loop, if the field is directed into the page of the loop and enclosed by the smaller loop. The strength of the magnetic field is 2.4 T.

Solution

The correct option is A 0.3 weber
Given: r=0.2 m, R=0.5 m

Since the magnetic field lines are enclosed by the smaller radius loop, so the magnetic flux will be through the smaller loop only.

Then using,

ϕ=BAcosθ=2.4×π×(0.2)2=0.3 weber

Option (a) is the right answer.
