₹145.60

Since the door is not to be painted, we have to subtract the area of door from that of wall’s area.

Wall’s area = 8 m $\times$ 4 m = 32 $m^2$

Door’s area = 2.4 m $\times$ 1.2 m = 2.88 $m^2$

Area to be painted = (32 – 2.88) $m^2$ = 29.12 $m^2$

Cost of painting = ₹ 5 per sq m

Cost of painting the wall = cost per sq.m x area to be painted

= 5 $\times$ 29.12 $m^2$ = ₹ 145.60
