Solution

Given:

ABC is an isosceles triangle with AB=AC=7.5cm.

BC=9 cm

ADBC and CEAB

Height from A to CD=AD=6 cm

Height from C to AB=CE=?

Since, Area of the triangle =12×Base×Corresponding height

Rightarrow Area of the triangle ABC=12×BC×AD (or) 12×AB×CE

12×BC×AD=12×AB×CE

BC×AD=AB×CE

(9 cm)×(6 cm)=(7.5 cm)×CE

54 cm2=(7.5 cm)×CE

54 cm27.5 cm=CE

7.2 cm=CE

i.e., Height from C to AB is 7.2 cm
