Out of many papaya plants growing in your garden, only a few bear fruits. Give reason.

Papaya is dioecious because the staminate and pistillate flowers are born on two different plants. Self-fertilization is not found in papaya, thus in different plants, the flower may be developing at a different time and that is why few plants bear fruit.
