Question

Two simple harmonic motions of an angular frequencies 100 and 100radS-1 have the same amplitude.Find the ratio of their maximum acceleration.

Open in App
Solution

a max=-(w^2)×A
A=amplitude
w=frequency
Given that the amplitude is same
So a1/a2=(w1^2)/(w2^2)
w1=frequency of first wave
w2=frequency of second wave

You have given the frequency of both the wave to be 100 rad/s
1.if this is the case then
a1/a2=1
2.I hope that the second frequency to be 1000 rad/s
Then
a1/a2=(100^2)/(1000^2)
=10000/1000000
=1/100
