Question

We know, in a solution the substance present in the smaller quantity is called the solute and the substance present in larger amount is called solvent. But what if both the constituents of the solution are in equal amount ? Suppose we have a liquid in liquid solution in which both the constituents are in equal amount then which one would be solute and which one would be the solvent in that particular solution?

Dear student,
Solute :- The Substances which dissolve in solvent.
Solvent :- The liquid in which a solute is dissolved to form a solution.
In the case of liquid in liquid solution,the desolved part act as solute and other one act as solvent.
