Fragmentation:

  1. When an organism breaks down into several fragments is known as fragmentation.
  2. Each fragment develops into an individual and is a clone of the original organism.
  3. Plants, fungi, sea stars, and annelid worms all display fragmentation.

Regeneration:

  1. Regeneration is the partial or complete regeneration of tissues in an organism that has been damaged.
  2. In some organisms, if the organs or the whole organisms splitter into pieces, then each piece regenerates the lost parts.
  3. Certain organizations have specific stem cells that regenerate and continue this process.
  4. House lizards are a good example of regeneration since they regrow their tail after it has been shed.
