Solution

Gibberellins:

  1. Gibberellins are the plant growth regulators involved in regulating growth.
  2. They influence different developmental processes which include stem elongation, germination, flowering, enzyme induction, etc.
  3. They have different effects on plant growth and stem elongation is the most dramatic of all.
  4. The stem starts to grow when it is applied in low concentration to a bush.
  5. The internodes grow so long that the plants become indistinguishable from climbing.
  6. The Gibberellins overcome the genetic limitations in different dwarf varieties.

Functions of gibberellins:

  1. Gibberellins are plant growth regulators that facilitate cell elongation, and help the plants to grow taller.
  2. They also play major roles in germination, elongation of the stem, fruit ripening, and flowering.
