The different modes of nutrition are:

Autotrophic Nutrition: Organisms make their own food (complex organic substances) using simple inorganic substances. Such mode of nutrition is autotrophic.

Heterotrophic Nutrition: Organisms which depend on other organisms for food. Such mode of nutrition is heterotrophic.

Saprophytic nutrition: Organisms feed on dead organisms or non-living organic matter. (e.g. fungi, bacteria). Such mode of nutrition is saprophytic.

Parasitic nutrition: Some organisms live on other organisms for nourishment. Such mode of nutrition is parasitic.
