Open in App
Solution

Dear student,
Repetitive DNA sequences are the DNA sequences which are repeated multiple times throughout the genome. Repetitive DNA sequences are thought to be the conserved sequences during evolution and are sometimes called junk DNA but they might have some significance in the genome which is not yet known. Repetitive DNA sequences can be tandem repeats (satellite DNA) and interspersed repeats (transposable elements).
