Chloroplast:

  1. These are plastid that contains chlorophyll and converts light energy into stable chemical energy via the photosynthetic process.
  2. Stroma is present in chloroplast which surrounds the thylakoid membrane.
  3. It is involved in the synthesis of organic molecules with the help of carbon dioxide and water.
  4. Stroma helps in providing support to the pigment thylakoids, the stroma is now known to contain chloroplast DNA, starch, and ribosomes.
  5. It contains enzymes needed to synthesize proteins and carbohydrates and enzymes needed for the Calvin cycle.
