Introduced during "1950′s" and "1960′s", "Green revolution" was the "adoption of new technology" to increase crop production world-wide. The new methods employed were- "High Yielding Variety (HYV)" of seeds, usage of chemical fertilizers, irrigation techniques, machines for cultivation etc. "Green revolution" started in India in 1965 with the help of scientist "M S Swaminathan" who is also known as the "father of Green revolution". It was of great help to the recently independent India after the "British rule", India had faced a lot of famines and had lost several lives.
