MOT describe the bonding between homo nuclear or hetero nuclear atomic orbitals or linear combination of Atomic orbitals (LCAO) by making of molecular orbitals in bonding, non-bonding and anti-bonding. By MOT we can describe many properties of molecules like 1. Bond order 2. magnetic properties 3. stability 4. existence 5. color properties .
The two atomic orbitals will combine to form molecular orbitals if the overlap is proper.
